THE HERD

THE HERD

I would like to address the subject, "Why do we refuse to do things that are necessary to maintain a long and happy life?" This is a most difficult question to answer. In most cases the answer will differ from person to person. The answer also depends upon the person it is directed to. If we are asked to give our opinion of what we think the answer might be regarding two people living identical lives, our answer would be greatly influenced by the fact of how we felt toward the people involved. We would have one answer for the person we cared for and another for the person we didn't care for. In most cases we would put out a very negative response in a positive manner. Humanity on a whole has a storehouse full of labels that we can use to justify just about anything we do, say or think. In the event we run out of labels, we can invent or better yet create at will, new labels that will fit our needs at any given time. You and I need to junk all our labels and accept full responsibility for our every action in word, thought and deed. You may be thinking there is no way we can exist in this world today without reasons for doing some of the things we do. Oh, how we fool ourselves with this label. I would guess that this is the most misused statement we humans use. We think we are able to get away with so much by using this one label and trying to use it to our advantage. Let me give you an example: "If I don't play by the rules of the world (race psyche) I would soon be chewed up and spit out by those seeking to take my job, wife, husband and so on."

Is it wrong to play by the rules of the so called world? No, as long as you don't believe in them. The reason being is as soon as you believe in them you become one with them, then you become another body in the large herd of humanity.

If you have ever spent time on a farm and watched a herd of cattle roaming about, you can readily see how they push, shove and position themselves to stay on their feet, more so when the dinner bell rings and they all run in a mass to get to the food. One should also observe what they are walking through to get to their destination which in most cases consist of food, water and shelter. They struggle to eat and drink to fatten themselves up, only to be taken to the meat plant to be butchered and become food for those on the so called higher food chain. How sad that we, who are spiritual in nature are becoming more and more like the cattle and like them push, shove and position ourselves to become strong only to ready ourselves for those who would use us as food.

When will humanity wake up and realize what and who they are? When will they stop allowing others to feed upon them? Some may say, "l don't think I could survive if I did not follow the herd." I can't disagree with some of you, however have you ever asked yourself "What is it you're trying to survive from"? Can you give it a name? Can you predict when your survival time runs out? Do you really know? Could it be this day, this hour, this minute or maybe this very moment?: How important would all your things be to you? We give a great deal of time to protecting our things but if you could predict your survival time, now, how high on your priority list would all your things be? Once again I say there is nothing wrong in wanting and having your things, but these things can totally destroy the soul if they are in any way put before your spiritual survival.

I have been told on several occasions that I talk about subjects that put fear into people and I should get off the doomsday kick. I don't see it that way. I can only see souls who should become as Gods, but they are doing everything possible to avoid their birthright. I have no intention of trying to stop people from getting their experience, I only try in my simple way to make them aware of the possibility of a great loss. We all need to do some deep introspection so we can find where our true values lie, and if you are satisfied with where you are, then so be it. It simply means you decided to take a detour that did not exist until you created it for your own benefit or better yet, for one of your bodies. It just slowed up your growth from becoming a full spiritual being. Consider this next statement carefully: YOU WILL GET OFF THE WHEEL IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO SO OR NOT, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. This statement is not intended to be a threat or frighten anyone. It is your choice and has always been your choice. That freedom of choice will never change. Are you telling me I need to change who, and what I am to get off this wheel of life and death? No, what I am suggesting is that you change your thinking to include your true self, your spiritual self If you can incorporate into your everyday thought process the fact that everything you do, say and think is coming from the Divinity within you, the outcome will take care of itself. Repeat everyday: "OF MYSELF I DO NOTHING, THE FATHER IN ME, HE DOETH THE WORK."

Many times I am asked, "Why is this work so difficult?" It seems the harder I try the more difficult it becomes. I keep giving the same answer. It is so difficult because we are trying to do what is impossible for us to do. You need only to acknowledge that there is a higher Divine creative force that takes over once we release our lives to it. IT can make all things possible. Some say I do accept this Divinity within and still find it impossible to achieve my goals both physical and spiritual. I can only say that the reason is that we accept the Divinity within on a intellectual level and we need to accept IT on a soul level.

How will I know if I'm living on the soul level? You will know when you become as a small child and like a child know that things are just that way. No explanation is ever necessary to a small child, to them everything just is. The box that the gift comes in is just as important and at times more important than the gift itself. Do you understand? A child places no value on things. I remember when one of my grandchildren was six years of age, he received five dollars in a card. I offered him four quarters for his one five dollar bill. He thought that was great and was more than willing to make the trade. How lovingly simple was this beautiful small child. But when I explained that he could get twenty quarters for that one five dollar bill, I took a small part of his innocence away from him. The master knew what he was talking about when He said, SUFFER THE LITTLE CHILDREN TO COME UNTO ME FOR SUCH IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN", also "UNLESS YOU BECOME AS LITTLE CHILDREN YOU SHALL NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN."

The problem we adults are having trying to grow spiritually is the fact we can't deal with the simple things. Why do you think this is so? I feel it's because of the intellect that we spend so much time developing Why is this so? I believe the main reason is that we identify very strongly with the things that seem so real to us. They are so real because we can see, feel, touch, smell and hear them, therefore they are so real. Such foolishness, when the soul leaves the body, try as you may you will not be able to experience those five senses. If you are strongly attached to those senses now, then when you're out of the body you may spend hundreds of years trying to make contact with just one of those sensations, and that's OK if that's were you're at because you will be just where your supposed to be. No big deal. However, if you could taste what is beyond those five senses you would get rid of all those obstacles that prohibit you from going back and forth between the visible and invisible. We need only break away from the herd and find our own way to at-one-ment. Some of us are so uncertain of what direction we should take, that we close our eyes to all things and allow ourselves to remain in the middle of the herd and let the herd push and shove us in the direction they are going, believing that by going with the masses we will arrive at the place we should be.

Look at your friends, your fellow workers and yes, at your family. Is it not obvious that the masses are in one big rush to follow the one ahead, shoving, kicking, biting and whatever else it takes to keep their place in the midst of the herd? All the time thinking it must be the right thing to do for the simple reason that we look and see ninety-nine percent of humanity going in the same direction. There will be a time when you will be so entrapped by the many, that you will find it impossible to break away. They will trample you into the ground and there will not be enough of you left to survive with the few who did manage to get out from among them. Could it be that the Master knew what He was talking about when he gave his followers the order "COME OUT FROM AMONG AND BE YE THEREFORE SEPARATE." Could it be that he was thinking about the herd, otherwise called the masses of humanity? Do we need a wall of bricks to fall on us before we understand that to attain Spirituality, we must dare to be different from the herd? At whatever cost to our three bodies that have led us for so long? We have a choice, and choose we must. Being at the front, side or rear of the herd is the same as being caught in the center with no escape. We need to break away from the herd before they get into the gate, where they think their food may be. Once they're inside the gate, there is no turning around and freeing themselves. You will just have to wait for the next herd to come along and start your fight to break away once more. Humanity is now in the most critical stage of their growth. We will be given all the help we ASK FOR, AND GIVEN THE STRENGTH TO BREAK AWAY. The choice is yours and yours alone. Make up your mind as to what direction you want to go and do not turn back. Don't worry, you will not turn into a pillar of salt as did Lot's wife, neither will you turn into an angel. You will become food for those on a higher scale if you are not able to break away from the herd.

Now then your next question would be a logical one. Who, or what, are those on the next higher scale? The answer to this question may disturb some of you, so it would be better if you made an attempt to answer this question yourself. I can only give you a hint as to the answer. "WHAT PROFIT A MAN IF HE GAINS THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOSETH HIS SOUL"???

Now, One last thought, you should be aware of, the fact that we are trying to break away from two different herds. The first herd being what we call the race psyche or the masses of humanity. The second being the herd that dwells within us, the many I's of men and women. Think very carefully now, "What herd should we break from first, the herd of humanity or the herd of our own many I's?" I know that some of you may be thinking, just when you are close to understanding about the herd you are thrown a curve and now find that ever thing seems more complicated. You have been dealing with these so called problems for many incarnations and are now ready to face them head on, the winner TAKES ALL. I trust there be no confusion in this lesson that will cause you to throw up your arms and surrender to the enemy, which is your own inability to refuse to enter the gate with the rest of the herd. A great master said "DON'T MISS THE BOAT, AS YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN THE NEXT BOAT WILL ARRIVE NOR DO YOU KNOW IF ANOTHER BOAT WILL BE ARRIVING."1 I would like to add to this statement, "Don't enter into the gate with the herd, as there may not be a gate leading out."
