Who Am I?
This question has been asked from the time humans were able to think. The answer has come in many forms, ranging from " I am nobody", to " I am a God". Each answer to one's own question of " Who Am I?" was, and still is, and always will be, correct. As one gets more and more experience, the answers to that same question will continue to change according to one's experience. If this statement is correct, then it stands to reason that one who avoids an experience will be in a state of stagnation and therefore will wither and die. While the person who can embrace all experiences, no matter how difficult, will continually change their minds as to who they are.
How can this be a truth if who you are changes with each experience? First let us examine what happens when we go through an experience. Let us walk through a make- believe situation. I am seventeen years old and still attending school. I meet and fall in love with a girl who is fifteen years of age and attending the same school. Now, my heart is telling me that I must spend the rest of my life with this wonderful loving girl. The girl has the same feeling toward me along with the same desires as me. We drop out of school, run off and get married. After the honeymoon I know I must find a job in order to support my wife and of course, myself. However, I can not find work due to the lack of jobs. The jobs that are available call for a person who has a good education. My wife is also trying to find a job, but lo and behold, we find that she is with child. I feel there is no need to continue this story as the outcome is very obvious. They go to live with one of their parents, or they find themselves so distressed that a divorce occurs and they go their separate ways to start over. If they are both able to realize the mistakes that were made, the essence of their experience is embedded in their souls and they both have grown.
Upon looking back at their so-called mistakes, they are able to look at themselves as somewhat wiser, and will apply their prior experience to the next relationship they are confronted with. Or, they may not have learned anything from their experience and find that they are in the same situation as the first, thereby lowering their self esteem and feeling they are not worthy of happiness. In either case they have become whatever they absorbed in the soul as a result of that one experience of getting married which also gave them a multitude of other experiences. In fact, it may have set up the end result of this incarnation. Though they both chose the experience before incarnating.

They did not choose the choices made until they presented themselves. Do you understand the difference between choosing your life in an incarnation and making a choice in any given experience in that carnation? For those who may question the above statement, the answer is FREE WILL. You will always choose the experience before you come into another incarnation and you will also know the results of your so-called good or bad decision. When in a PHYSICAL, MENTAL, and, EMOTIONAL body you have the choice of two paths to take. Given the fact that you will always know the path that will be right for you, you can still choose the so-called wrong path due to your free will. The reason a wrong choice may be made, is that most of humanity is under the control of the PHYSICAL, MENTAL, and EMOTIONAL bodies. These bodies did not exist while in our true body, our SPIRITUAL BODY. Why then do we not remember what we experienced while in our spiritual body? The fact is that we DO remember, but we choose not to hear or see. Our main fault is that we refuse to listen. There is never a time, nor an experience we go through, that the inner voice does not try to direct you through the lessons you learned while in the spiritual body.
We identify so strongly with our PHYSICAL, MENTAL, and, EMOTIONAL bodies, we think that is what we are and make our decisions based upon what one or all of these bodies tell us. We must come to the true understanding that what we see in the mirror and what our coconut tells us, are a NO-THING. We are spiritual beings and nothing else. We are creators that came out of the creator of creators. Why must this be so difficult for us to understand? We need only to look around us to see the chaos going on in the world. It is all happening because humanity is being ruled by their PHYSICAL, MENTAL, and, EMOTIONAL bodies. I want this, I want that, I feel this, I feel that, I like this, I like that.
There is nothing wrong with wanting, feeling, and liking. It prevents us from growing only when these THINGS control the way we live and we live by our actions and deeds. If you will give thought as to what it is you are trying to accomplish, you will find that the end result is to satisfy one of the senses. We need only to realize that the five senses or the PHYSICAL, MENTAL, and, EMOTIONAL bodies, were created by us to further our spiritual growth, NOT FOR SELF INDULGENCE. How difficult it is not to identify with these three bodies. We are so dependent upon them that we find no need to give them any thought. We allow them to run havoc in our lives and we call them life. How sad for most of humanity the three bodies are one with them and they are one with the bodies.
On a conscious and unconscious level we are constantly striving to satisfy all three of our mundane bodies and give little or no thought to the real spiritual being we are. Ask yourselves: "Why is this true?"
I am sure we can come up with a thousand answers, such as being taught this as a child, the education system, the Church, the thinking of the masses. These are but excuses, labels we use to justify our actions. The truth of the matter is that we do not want to give up these three bodies because we feel they please us so much. Even though all suffering is caused by our holding on to them and all of our so- called pleasures last only for a brief time, we are always off looking for another pleasure to satisfy our senses. You may be thinking " That's not so. I would let go if only I knew how. It is so hard living on this earth plane without them". Sorry to say, it is impossible to really live on this earth plane as long as we hold on to them.
The secret of living a spiritual life while enjoying this earth life to the fullest, is very simple. We need only to listen to the inner voice and follow the its dictates while we live in the world of the senses. When we understand the true meaning of this statement, we will find total happiness with no suffering or want. Your inner voice knows your needs and will fulfill all your desires when you master the above statement. How can this be? The answer is very simple, but herein lies the difficulty. When we follow the inner voice without questions we will find all of our needs and wants changed. We find ourselves with all new priorities. Our suffering will be replaced with happiness, sickness with health and all hate will be replaced with unconditional love. We will not be able to judge anyone or anything. This can not be accomplished by anything we do. In fact, there is nothing for us to do but follow our inner voice and IT will take care of everything.
The largest obstacle standing in our way is our little selves. We think if we do this or do that, we will become a better person. You can not do anything of yourself, so stop trying. We can only do what the divinity within leads us to do. We do not have control over the experiences we will have while on this earth plane. You only control the outcome of the experience in the here and now. This is true on the spiritual level, the mundane and all other levels you care to discover.
At this point some of you may be thinking: " Do I really have a choice as to what goes on in my life?" The answer is a deafening YES. You always have the choice of going left or right, up or down, in or out; do you get the point.??? Don't sell your free will short or take it for granted. It is the mold of which your destiny is made. Think about it.
Another question that arises: " What if I use my free will to better myself and another person gets hurt because of my decision?" We are then dealing with two factors here. 1. Was my intention to hurt another? If not, don't worry about it. It becomes the other person's problem or experience. 2. If you intentionally hurt another for your own betterment, it becomes a karmic debt. Again....do not worry about it, as you have already committed the act and you cannot change the act, so know that you need to deal with the karma. This should be done in the here and now and not some other lifetime . Asking for a sincere forgiveness from the one that was hurt will rid you of that karma, as long as you are truly sorry for your act. Then if the person that was wronged refuses to forgive you, at that point it becomes their karma. Be very careful that you do not abuse this law as you can accumulate much karma that may take many lifetimes to erase. The rules are so very simple, but implementing these rules can be very difficult. The reason it is so hard to implement this rule is because we hold so tightly to those three bodies we are using for such a short time that we may get our experiences. These bodies are very necessary to us, in order to function on this earth plane. Without them we would be a NO-THING.
I trust you understand the meaning of a NO-THING. Let me give you a few examples : 1. A no-thing could be an elemental thought form that is seeking a soul. 2. A being that has lost its soul. 3. A new soul with no experience (looking for a soul it can take over that is stronger or has more experience). This can happen under the following conditions: A. Lack of effort. B. No desire to learn. C. Total disbelief in a supreme power, or whatever you choose to call it. D. Become totally passive where we have no control over our being, usually brought on by drugs or alcohol. Subject to elemental walk-ins. How can this all loving God allow this to happen? IT does not allow it, IT just uses its own essence to bring about a new or stronger soul so it can grow and express itself. You see it is impossible to do away with the essence of the creator; therefore nothing is ever lost, only changed. No different than replacing a burned out electric light bulb with one of a higher wattage. It is the SAME energy behind the bulb that gives it the power to operate. I guess you may call this total detachment. This is accomplished when we are able to separate from the P/M/E bodies. I trust this is clear to you, as I cannot put it in simpler terms.
You may thinking: " I am trying the best I know how to reach this point that you are talking about, but it's almost impossible and so difficult to achieve." The only answer I can give you is to stop trying to reach this point of total detachment by your own effort, as it cannot be reached, no matter how much effort you put forth. Only with ITS help can you accomplish total detachment, so just LET GO and LET GOD. Put in simpler terms: If you need to think about what the inner voice is saying and you ponder what is going on inside yourself, then you have slammed the door shut by misusing your free will. I hope this is clear to you as so much is at stake. More so in this day of the coming of the old age. The song "THE WAY WE WERE" seems so appropriate here.
